The budget session of the Punjab Assembly was once again adjourned in Aiwan-e-Iqbal till 3 pm today.

Governor Punjab Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman has convened a meeting of the Punjab Assembly today at 3 pm in Aiwan-e-Iqbal. Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi convened a meeting at one o'clock in the afternoon. PTI MPA Mian Mahmood Rashid said that convening a meeting in Aiwan-e-Iqbal has no constitutional status.

Lahore: The budget session of the Punjab Assembly for the year 2022-23 has been adjourned for the second day in a row.

News of talks between the opposition and the government continued to surface throughout the day and it was reported that PTI members had managed to attend the assembly session.

The announcement was made because the meeting will begin at about 10 p.m.

Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi started the session but after his time he adjourned it till one o'clock tomorrow afternoon. On the other hand, Governor Punjab Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman canceled the ongoing 40th session of the Punjab Assembly and convened the 41st session tomorrow at 3 pm in Aiwan-e-Iqbal.

PTI MPA Mian Mahmood Al-Rasheed while commenting on the controversy arising within the members of the Assembly regarding their participation in the meeting said that the meeting convened by the Governor in Aiwan-e-Iqbal."No constitutional status."

Monday's meeting was adjourned.The first session of the Assembly was scheduled for Monday, June 13, but it did not take place. As a result, it was adjourned till 1 pm on Tuesday as the treasury benches continued to protest against each other.

The budget meeting was scheduled to begin at 2 pm but was delayed by several hours. Once it started, the opposition benches protested the presence of Punjab government spokesman Ataullah Tarar in the assembly, as he was not a member.

The opposition said that unless Hamza Shahbaz is present in the house, the budget will not be presented while the army officer and chief secretary are sitting in the gallery.

After the opposition's protest, the Speaker Punjab Assembly demanded that Tarar be expelled from the House and adjourned the sitting for 10 minutes.

Elahi, who lost the Chief Ministerial race against Hamza Shahbaz last month, said that if Tarar did not come out of the building in 10 minutes, he would adjourn the meeting till tomorrow.
